Setting up the Window Mixed Reality headsets
Looking to set up a Windows Mixed Reality headset? Here's a simple step by step guide on how to set up your WMR headset.
There are a few variations of the Windows Mixed Reality currently on the market. However, whether you have an HP, a Dell or a Samsung model, the set up to get your WMR running is the same.
River Fox is currently a third party app, so to get it working on a Mixed Reality headset it has to go through Steam. This guide will show you how to get Windows Mixed Reality through Steam.
- Download and install Steam on your computer. Open Steam once installed, sign up and log in to your steam account.
Download and install SteamVR from Steam.
Download and install Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR from Steam.
Plug your WMR headset into your computer making sure that the HDMI is connected to an HDMI 2.0 port and the USB is connected to a USB 3.0 port.
Once connected, the Headset will automatically install as a driver on your computer. Open the Mixed Reality Portal.
Select Get Started and follow the instructions to complete your set up.
That's it! Now open up River Fox, strap on your headset and you're ready to go!
